Seajet 021, antifouling, biocide-free

Seajet 021 EKO is a biocide-free alternative to conventional antifouling. It can be applied to all substrates, including aluminium.The antifouling consists of a resin base with a hydrolysis-based eroding layer that is constantly renewed, making it more difficult for algae, mussels and pox to adhere.

The most important facts about the biocide-free Seajet 021 antifouling:
- Biocide-free, self-polishing anti-fouling protection
- Suitable for salt and fresh water
- Up to 40 knots
- Primer 117 (new build) or 015 (change)
- Colours: black, white, red, blue

Substrate pre-treatment
On existing antifouling:
- High-pressure cleaning with fresh water (+200 bar) to remove fouling and salt.
- Remove existing antifouling in poor condition.
- AF in good condition:
◦ Use the Seajet compatibility table to check whether your antifouling is compatible with the desired Seajet antifouling.

- The surface must be dry and free of contaminants such as salt, grease and oil.
- Degreasing is required.
- Two coats are recommended.
- One additional coat to prepare the edges, waterline and rudder stock.
- Antifouling should only be wet-sanded or chemically stripped.
- Never burn off or sand off old antifouling.
- For GRP/steel:
◦ Sand down with P100 sandpaper
◦ Remove dust completely
◦ Apply 3 coats of SEAJET 117 Silver.
- For wood:
◦ Sand down with P100 sandpaper
◦ Remove dust completely
◦ Apply 2 coats of SEAJET 015.
- For aluminium:
◦ Sand down with P100 sandpaper
◦ Remove dust completely
◦ 3 coats of SEAJET 117 Silver
- Then apply at least 2 coats of SEAJET 021 EKO.
